How inspiring that Kenya is a source of electoral hope for other Africans! I never thought this would be given the recent history of Kenya's elections. This 2022 poll has been the most credible thus far in Kenya and was free, fair, transparent and credible for the most part. Now that there is a petition case in the Supreme Court it remains to be seen if there were any underhand dealings that will be exposed.
It is a travesty that Kenyan diaspora voters are still voting only for President and not the other offices. How hard is it for the IEBC to organize a proper election for them? Or are they avoiding the 'extra work' that this would require? All embassies should be potential polling stations for them, and an online system set up for them to vote. This online system can be a prototype for eventually introducing computerized voting in Kenya like they do in USA and other countries. This way we will get rid of paper ballots.
I am optimistic that in this regard progress however slow will continue.
